A family Christmas favourite, my great grandma's cherry shortbread recipe. I hope you enjoy this classic as much as I do!
1 cup SR Flour
3 tbsp Icing Sugar
85g Soft Butter
1/4 tsp Salt
Approximately 10 Cherries (to go into the recipe, but you'll probably need a good deal more for all the cherries that will mysteriously go missing along the way...strange, I know, right?)
1 tsp vanilla (I use vanilla bean paste)
Heat oven to 180oC (160 for Fan Forced Ovens)
Mix all ingredients in a bowl, chop cherries and add to the mixture
Roll your mixture out and cut into whatever shape you fancy using cookie cutters.
Place your biccies onto a greased/baking paper lined tray.
Bake until light brown (about 10-15minutes.
